Instead I'm going to allow a comparison to be made between eating out in Ireland and eating out in Lanzarote. If nothing else, this might make us feel better about what we're charged in restaurants on the rock.
During a recent trip, Mrs. Pub Spy and I found ourselves in Kinsale, Co. Cork, Ireland. Well, we made it our business to find ourselves there, to be honest, so spend a voucher Mrs

Anyway, that's how we ended up there eating out in Kinsale during a recent trip. So far, so boring.
To cut to the chase: (1) the food was very nice, (2) the service was fine, (3) the atmosphere was grand. But a look at the receipt says much about how lucky we are to be able to tick these same three boxes when eating out in Lanzarote, for a fraction of the cost.
The price of the two main fish courses really put the tin hat on it - give me the Flatboat in the Old Town any day!
Getting hungry reading that:)
ReplyDeleteI'll give you my favourite eating houses in Lanza (PDC).
I'll start with Kinsale in Los Pocilios. Probably the priciest out of all the places I eat but worth it. Bob is a top chief.
La Brasa is around the corner from my apartment and is great for any meal. Very reasonable price and great for people watching:)
I tried the Drop Inn for Sunday dinner. It was one of the best Roasts I ever had. Went twice one Sunday for the dinner:):)
Probably my favourite is La Canada. If you go here dont be in a hurry just sit back and relax. Staff are excellent. I always go for the Lamb.
Up to the Old Town and there are too many to mention!!! Mon Mairc (left hand side of the Craic N Ceol), other side El Tomato, Magnolia and Four Seasons.
They are just my favourite in the Old Town but there are loads of good ones.
And I always wash down my food with either San Valentine or Vina Sol.........Enjoy
Kinsale by name, Kinsale by nature, perhaps??? It's been a while since i ate in Los Pocillos, but the last time i was in the Kinsale, the food was great.
ReplyDeleteMy own favourite would be Casa Cabana, in the Old Town (www.casacabana.co.uk).
